April Fool’s Day Top Ten
- Entice the kids with a delicious chocolate treat, but trick them with what lies beneath the delicious outer coating. Could it be Brussel sprouts, cucumber, tomatoes, you choose.
- Nasty nappy – Take a nappy, fill it with chocolate spread or peanut butter and ask your little one’s older sibling or other grown up to pop it in the bin for you. As you hand it to them, make sure it opens up and the contents fall out, or at least touches their hands.
- Draw a bug, cut it out and stick it on the inside of the lampshade, wait for the light to be turned on and someone will get a great big fright!
- Take the morning cereal, place it in a bowl, with some milk and a spoon, and then pop it in the freezer, they’ll be very confused when then try and eat it.
- Jelly Drinks – Make up a jelly, pour into into a glass with a straw and pop it in the fridge to set, then see them struggle to suck it up.
- Put googly eyes on different items all around the house
- Serve dinner backwards – give them dessert first, then main, then a starter but make it look perfectly normal and when they question it, explain this is how dinner is always served.
- Change the clocks, tell them it’s bedtime much earlier than normal, get them all ready and into bed and then tell them you’re just kidding and they’ve actually got an extra 2 hours and use that time to do something super fun.
- Photo shop fun – Grab some family photos from your phone or computer, superimpose new faces on the kids faces, this could be their baby faces, a completely different face, a cartoon character or just place google eyes on them, print them off and place in frames and wait to see if they notice. When they do, convince them that this is what they currently look like or used to look like when they were little.
- Bed swap – if you have heavy sleepers, wait until they’re asleep and swap bedrooms, they’ll be very confused when they wake up in the morning.
The list of possible pranks are endless, but whatever you get up to, have fun and stay safe.
