Here at STAG, we were recently sent some of these super new food wraps to sample. We had no idea what to expect. We’ve always hated using cling film and plastic bags, but it’s hard to find a good alternative. Well we absolutely love these! All those little bits you normally grab the cling film for, can all be wrapped up perfectly, cheese, butter, sandwiches and more. The patterns are absolutely gorgeous too and we love the fact that these are amazing value for money and all handmade by wonderful local mum, Bobby.
Here at BeeEco Friendly I am making reusable beeswax food wraps, a brilliant environmentally friendly biodegradable alternative to clingfilm.
You can use your reusable beeswax food wraps for so many things, from wrapping cheese and sandwiches, to storing food, covering open jars and tins and wrapping any other items too (soap and shampoo bars travel great in these!).
A little more about using them:
Your first time: When your wraps arrive give each one a gentle scrunch before using the natural warmth of your hands to shape the wrap around your food.
When they need a clean: Use a cold damp cloth and wipe your food wrap clean or give it a rinse under cold water. Leave wraps to dry naturally ready to be used over and over.
The lifespan of a beeswax food wrap: This varies depending on how often they are used and the care they are given. Take care of your wrap and it will last around 6-12 months before needing a refresh.
The food wraps have so many uses but please avoid raw meat and fish and do not use in the dishwasher or microwave (you will melt away your wax if exposed to heat).
Please note my items are handmade and some irregularities are possible.
