All-Star Tutors was established in 2011 and we are a highly reputable, private tuition company.
We offer one to one private tuition for students across all key stages and have a number of qualified, experienced teachers who currently work for us. Alongside offering tuition to students who are currently in school, we also provide tuition for home educated students and adult learners.
Tuition is held in the comfort of the student’s own home and we provide all resources free of charge. Students are welcome to have lessons on a weekly or fortnightly basis and our tutors teach during the school holiday period.
Our vision is simple; we are dedicated to inspiring the academic achievement of the students we teach and commit to providing high quality tutoring services.
‘We contacted All-star tutors after our son was put in a low set when he started High School. A year later and he’s now in one of the top sets so can’t praise highly enough.’

Just Drama is here to engage, enthuse and inspire those who participate in any Just Drama activities, including:
We focus on introducing and developing the drama knowledge and drama skills of young and older people; in doing so their self-confidence will grow as will their viewpoint, opinions and understanding of themselves and other people in the community and the world, making them effective communicators. The focus for youngsters is fun drama activities that encourage listening, movement, communication, decision making and role-play. Older children and teenagers work on a similar premise although greater focus will be on acting skills and experimentation with different drama styles and form. For older adults, Just Drama offers the opportunity to get to grips with a playwright and play-text and bring the page to the stage. All sessions are led by me, Louise Record, fully qualified teacher, DBS checked and a PGCE in Drama and a BA with Honours in Dramaturgy (the art of theatrical production and the theory of dramatics)
Fun drama sessions every Monday from 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm (age 7 – 10 yrs)

Smiles&Miles is a new and rapidly growing private tutoring business operating in the Selby, York and Tadcaster areas and it guarantees smiles! Started in April this year by Sarah Oliver, a local mum with over 23 years teaching experience; Smiles&Miles already has a reputation for motivating students to make accelerated progress by building their confidence and helping them to develop a positive image of themselves as learners.
Sarah’s vision for the business is to have a supply of tutors, teaching a wide variety of subjects and ages (KS1-KS5) to provide one to one tutoring sessions for local students at a reasonable price. She has a passion for working with children and this has a positive impact on their learning therefore she will be looking for like- minded teachers to tutor for Smiles&Miles. Currently, Sarah has two extra tutors on board (KS2 AND KS3-5) and is in the process of taking on more. Smiles&Miles only takes on fully qualified, enhanced DBS checked and smiley tutors who travel to the student’s home. Parents and guardians can have the peace of mind that only high quality, curriculum related lessons which ensure academic progress will be delivered. A friendly tutor with a cheerful manner also enables the students to feel happy and at ease during the session.
Smiles&Miles will be running some holiday group sessions and after school clubs. The next event is the summer fun learning sessions at the Regen Centre in Riccall running in the mornings from Monday 13th August until Thursday 16th August.
Smiles&Miles comes highly recommended by local parents and guardians.

Absolutely brilliant…. Sarah is tutoring my grandson and he is coming on leaps and bounds. Extremely pleasant and good to be around, he loves his session and is benefitting from it very much. I would highly recommend.

Four months ago I was given the worst news at our parents evening- our little one was 2 years behind and he had just gone into year 1. We had always been told how bright he was so I was devastated but with the help of Sarah from Smiles&Miles and the shear determination of our little solider, after about four months I’ve been told by his teacher, who is absolutely amazed, that he is now where he needs to be. If it hadn’t been for Sarah and her ability to keep him going for an hour after a day at school I don’t know where we would be. Can highly recommend.
(Grandma of a Year 1 child, Selby)
Absolutely brilliant tutor, our daughter is made to feel so comfortable during the sessions and isn’t afraid to say if she doesn’t understand something. She looks forward to it every week.
(Mum of Year 4 child, Cawood)
Sarah has only had two sessions with my son and is making good progress already, I really recommend her. Thank you.
(Dad of a Year 5 child, Sherbern in Elmet)
My daughter waits at the door for ten minutes before her session is due to begin- she really looks forward to it!

Sarah is an amazing, nurturing tutor. I knew Sarah before she started tutoring so I jumped at the chance for her to help my daughter. She had lost a lot of confidence in her abilities and was falling behind at school. Half way through the first session she was beaming, gave me a thumbs up saying “it’s so much fun”. She keeps asking when she will see Sarah again and can’t wait for her next session. I would highly recommend Sarah.
(Mum of a year 4 child, Tadcaster)
After a difficult start at primary school our son has struggled for a long time with his confidence in English. Facing the six week holidays we wanted a block of tutoring that would enable our son to start the new school year with the confidence he needed to move forward. Sarah tailored our sons tutoring to his summer holiday homework and his personal interests to make the sessions enjoyable and productive. Our son finished each session beaming with pride and couldn’t wait to show us his work. I would recommend Sarah and Smiles and Miles to anyone who feels that their child would benefit from extra help.
