If you’re staying indoors or socially distancing, we know how challenging this may be and for that reason, we have dedicated a whole new page, all designed to give you advice and tips of things to do, how to keep Mini Mumblers busy, but most importantly, how to look after you.
Stay home if you have a fever or a cough – that’s the latest coronavirus advice from Prime Minister Boris Johnson as of today, Thursday March 18, 2020.
Pinned as an ‘Announcement’ to the top of our Facebook Chat Group, you’ll find two Covid19 related posts, the first can be used to inform members of any cancellations or closures, included nurseries, classes, events and so on. The second can be used for sharing ideas and suggestions of things to do with little ones, if staying indoors and self-isolating.
With special thanks to Calderdale Mumbler for writing this blog for us to share.
Following updated government advice regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), Junction will be closed until further notice.
We are extremely sorry to be in this position, which will be a difficult time for many, but look forward to resuming normal activity as soon as that’s possible.
We’ve set up new coronavirus information pages on our website. There’s information for businesses about business rates – we’re working on reviewing annual bills and revised bills will be issued as soon as possible. There’s information for small businesses that pay little or no business rates but we are waiting for guidance from central government about the criteria for the funding grant they announced.
Please revisit these pages as we continuously updating them: www.selby.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19
We’re making some changes to some of our services. This is to protect you and our staff, in line with the latest government guidance around dealing with Coronavirus. These changes will allow us to continue to deliver essential services and deploy staff where they are needed.
Customer contact centre
Closed for walk-in visits – this includes Planning Surgeries and Housing Options surgeries. Where possible, customer enquiries will be by phone but for homeless customers some face to face meetings may still be required. There is no walk-in service at the Civic Centre.
Closed for day-to-day use, including laundries.
No non-essential home visits and limited visits to essential tenancy contact sign-ups and viewings. Tenancy transfers applications are on hold until the emergency situation ends.
We’re contacting vulnerable tenants directly to let them now about changes and to share the help available.
Emergency housing repairs only and continuing gas and electrical inspection and servicing. These teams will check with tenants they are not isolating or have symptoms.
The proposed box takeback scheme for the old recycling boxes is on hold. The new wheelie bin service will begin as planned at the start of April.
Lifeline support service
Home visits suspended but we’ll contact customers by phone and can offer help with shopping and prescriptions. We continue to respond to emergencies made via the pendant alarm.
All environmental health, enforcement, rent and anti-social behaviour inspections and visits will stop apart from emergencies. Revenue and benefits appointments will take place over the phone and property inspector visits will be limited.
