Take your career in a new direction by learning the essential skills for working with children & young people!
If you’ve taken a break from work to bring up your kids, or if you’ve been out of work for other reasons, it’s easy to lose confidence in yourself and forget all the skills you have to offer potential employers. To help people who are interested in starting a career working with children or young people, BrightSparks is running a four-day training course in Selby in November.
The course will provide an introduction to working with children and young people and will cover:
Understanding the children’s workforce
Managing challenging behaviour
Dealing with trauma and attachment issues
Developing emotional resilience in children & young people
Employment and career development coaching
BrightSparks will help you to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence to work or volunteer in this sector. Best of all, it’s FREE to people not in employment. You don’t need to be receiving any benefits to join the course, you just need to not be in employment at the moment.
You will receive a certificate on completion, plus one-to-one careers coaching to support you to take your next steps. The course starts on the 21st of November and is from 9.30am – 2.45pm, so you can still make the school run!
