Our international business has a turnover of £30m per annum and we are widely recognised as a leading player within the downstream oil industry, frequently being asked to appear on mainstream media outlets to discuss oil markets and industry developments. We also have a comprehensive network of industry leading fuel cards which cater for all types of business sectors.
The Role We’re looking for a talented individual to join our office-based, fuel card department on a part-time basis. A fuel card is a payment card for businesses, enabling drivers to use this card to purchase fuel at petrol filling stations around the country. You’ll make outgoing calls to promote and sell fuel cards to a variety of businesses that have a need to reduce and manage their costs. You may also be involved in identifying new markets and business opportunities to promote our fuel card. Once the sale has been completed candidates will also be responsible for managing any ongoing customer service enquiries from their own customer base. The role will also involve some administration duties.
The Benefits The successful candidate will be put through an induction course, covering everything from industry knowledge and fuel card sales techniques, as well as an understanding of the wider Portland Fuel business The salary is £20,000 per annum pro rata, with an additional bonus based on performance. The holiday entitlement is 21 days a year pro rata. Part-time, flexible working hours will be considered.

The successful applicant will need to be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, enthusiastic, have great communication skills and have the confidence to deal and forge business partnerships with key decision makers, as well as the resilience to ensure you don’t get discouraged if you have a difficult day selling. Candidates need to have a minimum of 2 years previous experience making outbound calls in a business to business sales environment.
