About Us

Welcome to Selby, Tadcaster and Goole (STAG for short) Mumbler!

Hi, I’m Kathryn, a local mum of 2 mini mumblers and a Student Experience Manager for a local university.

Since my youngest was born, I had always used the York Mumbler website, I found the support and advice offered by fellow parents so helpful and reassuring.  I have bought endless clothes and toys from the site and have frequently used it for finding great ideas for things to do in and around York.

In 2016 while on maternity leave with my 2nd child, I had the wonderful opportunity of working for York Mumbler and obtained even more insight into what goes on behind the scenes and just how much the local mumbler community benefit from it.

In no time at all I was hooked and so when the opportunity to open my own Mumbler in my own area was mentioned to me, well I couldn’t resist and here we are.

What we do

  • Run the Selby, Tadcaster and Goole Mumbler Facebook Chat Group and What’s On Page, ensuring our local mumblers can ask for advice and support in a safe environment, either as themselves or anonymously through us.
  • Promote local events
  • Share great local mumbler offers
  • Host a Jobs for Parents page
  • Run Nearly New Sales and Mumbler Monthly Meet ups in the area
  • Provide a platform for local businesses to promote what they do including all of the following –
  • Days out
  • Weekly classes, groups and playgroups
  • Eating out
  • Holidays
  • School holiday activities
  • Trusted tradespeople
  • Local retailers
  • and much more!

STAG offers all of the above in our area.  I love nothing more than the idea of helping and supporting local parents, carers and grandparents to get the most out of caring for little ones and helping make busy lives that little bit easier. If while doing that I can also support some of the amazing child friendly local businesses we have in our community, then even better.

Finally, what makes it all even more special is that I get to do all of this with my wonderful friend of many years, the one I’ve turned to for advice and support, the one I’ve shed tears with on those overwhelming parenting days.

Let me introduce you to Caroline…

I’m Caroline, a Mum of two mini-Mumblers and a primary school teacher. Since having my first child four years ago I have, like most Mums, been constantly on the lookout for anything child related –from ideas for days out (usually on budget), advice on parenting matters, local groups to attend with the little ones or party planning ideas!

When I was introduced to York Mumbler and South East Leeds Mumbler I breathed a sigh of relief as suddenly all of this information was in one place – a centralised hub for anything parent / carer related which could be trusted! I tend to jump in the car and visit places all over North and West Yorkshire so tapped into Mumbler knowledge in several areas. Having identified the need for a Mumbler in Selby, Tadcaster and Goole (including Howden), I joined forces with my dear friend Kathryn and set off on a mission to provide a trusted hub of information and the ultimate local online parenting community for our area.

STAG Mumbler is our passion and continues to grow. One of the things that we love about Mumbler is the fact that our tribe of followers are essential for its growth. You are the experts on our area and it is you that we listen to – so if you have any recommendations for local businesses, days out, insider knowledge about anything that would be helpful for parents and carers or suggestions for blog articles then please drop us an email at stag@mumbler.co.uk

You can also visit our Facebook chat group and what’s on page which will keep you up to date with any new posts or important information – our chat group is an excellent immediate source of advice and support; you can even post anonymously.

If you are a local business who would like to explore options for adverts or features with us, we have a number of options available.

I really do hope that you find our website useful and continue to support the Mumbler community.

We always love hearing from Mumblers with any more ideas or thoughts that they would like to see within our mumbler community, so do get in touch anytime, we’d love to hear from you!
