STAG Mumbler was originally set up by Kathrine in 2018. In 2025 STAG Founder Kathryn decided to step down from running the website and let her baby develop on to the next phase as Emily Pickard and the team at York Mumbler took over the running of the website.

We closely vet the companies and service providers who approach us and we regularly turn down all sorts of things because we don’t agree with the brand’s ethos, or don’t think it’s relevant to the Mumbler audience or even if it doesn’t “feel” right. Whenever we do talk about a brand or a product, it’s because we genuinely like it and think that the Mumblers might too. We’re always honest, we won’t recommend someone or something if we don’t believe they aren’t up to scratch for the Mumblers – If we can’t say anything nice then we won’t say anything at all!
Facebook community chat group
The Facebook chat group is still going strong and never ceases to amaze us how much support, love and kindness is shown on there every day (as well as the odd ‘difference of opinion’… but as long as it’s said respectfully then that’s no bad thing!) The collective knowledge of the York Mumblers is astounding! Everyone is welcome to join for FREE, ask our 24,000 members for advice, support and recommendations as well as selling your child related items to locals.

‘I’m a local mum of 2 Mini Mumblers and I have a passion for bringing together the York parenting community. I love collecting and sharing the vast knowledge we have of this amazing city to help make all of our busy lives that little bit easier! I was lucky enough to be able to give up my career in the corporate world so that I could spend more time with my girls so York & STAG Mumbler is now my job and I am one of the lucky few who gets to make a living doing what I love. Supporting Emily are a group of like minded parents who are driven by a mission to make life easier for parents in STAG. Working behind the scenes, our Facebook admin team are a group of volunteers who moderate in the chat group to ensure it remains a safe space for parents and carers. Our social media scouts (big and mini Mumblers) are on the road capturing the latest goings on in STAG and showcasing the best bits for families. Over at HQ we are busy creating our own content and family guides on the website, sharing news, adding events and job postings from local businesses and communities and tirelessly working to ensure all the information on the website is kept up to date, especially around the school holidays!
