Filling the 6 weeks can be hard, as can finding new and exciting things to do, while watching those pennies. Here at STAG, we want to try and help make things a little easier and offer you some inspiration.

Boston Park Farm is still a traditional working farm. The animal trail allows children to get up close with a wide range of farm animals. You can pet and feed most of the animals and on special days there are animal handling sessions. The whole experience is geared up to suit children up to around 10 years old.
Enjoy the outdoor climbing frames, swings, slides, Go-Karts, mud kitchens, Bouncy Castle, Sandpit and bale pyramid to climb, plus indoor soft play area, suitable for children up to 8 years old. During the summer months, you can also get lost in a huge Maize Maze.
Sample some delicious treats in the cafe, with outdoor and indoor seating and the Snack Baa – for delicious ice cream!

This Spring, the National Festival Circus are joining us for a half term filled with excitement! Every day throughout the Spring Adventure there will be three circus shows! (There are NO animals involved in the circus). Let your imagination run wild with the Stockeld Circus! A true feast for the eyes, a real family treat!
The National Festival Circus is a magical mix of laughter and excitement. Slapstick clowns, balancing equilibrists, fast tempo juggling, baffling magic, high flying diabolos, mesmerising spinning hoops and buckets full of fabulous fun.
Circus tickets are an add on to your Spring day passes, available on a first come, first served basis. Just select the date and time for your Spring Adventure, then before checkout, you can add your circus tickets onto your booking. Everybody requires a circus ticket, except for babes in arms.

There is a mosaic of habitats to explore on this former rubbish tip, which is now a flourishing wildlife rich brownfield site. Tranquil lakes host little grebe and the open grasslands provide a real chance of seeing green woodpecker and also hear them yaffle. early summer brings the meadow areas alive with common spotted orchids and viper’s bugloss. It is perfect for a family day out. With habitats spanning from wetland and wildflower meadows to mature woodland, this delightful nature reserve is home to a diverse range of wildlife.

Brayton Barff can be reached by travelling a few miles to the west of Selby, just south-east of Thorpe Willoughby. Yorkshire Water’s free car park is off Barff Lane, less than a mile to the west of Brayton (please note – there is a height barrier at the entrance). This woodland surrounding a covered reservoir is frequently visited for recreational activities such as walking, admiring the scenery and bird watching.
The undulating paths around the site are wide and well-surfaced, with no barriers to access for wheelchair and pushchair users such as steps and stiles. Climbing to the top of the hill offers visitors a rare viewpoint of the surrounding area, with its significant height relative to the miles and miles of flat land around it.

Homestead Park is located 1.5 miles west of York City Centre at 40 Water End, Clifton, York YO30 6WP.
There is pedestrian access from Water End and Shipton Road. Vehicular access is via Shipton Road only (use postcode YO30 5RE for satnavs).
Riccall park is a lovely park, based in the village of Riccall, just off the A19. It has plenty of equipment, including a section for little ones, something for the older children, outdoor gym equipment, aerial slide, basket ball hoop, skating half pipes and a huge grass area perfect for picnics. The two play areas are gated and free parking available within the village. Looking to make a day of it? Within the village you’ll find Dairyman’s Tea Room, the Pickled at Riccall Post Office, Deli and Shop and even an Italian restaurant, Burro, serving fabulous Italian cuisine, all day, everyday.
